This fake ad for “Saber” deodorant has two female jedi in a lightsaber duel for the attentions of the geeky padawan at the bar. The stuff of fantasy for many Star Wars fans, that’s for sure!
Oh, and for some bizarre reason, YouTube considers underwear to be “mature content” (which is odd, since 99% of music videos show more than this does). Whatever.
If you haven’t heard the story of Christian the lion, you’re really missing out.
Bought at Harrods (back in the days when it really was the best shop in the world) by Australians John Rendall and Anthony Bourke, Christian was a 35-pound lion cub and cost 250 guineas. The two raised their pet in a furniture store, exercised him in a local church graveyard and even took him on seaside trips. After a year, though, he had grown too big.
The Born Free Foundation suggested he be released to the wild in Kenya. This was done and Christian was accepted into a pride. A year later, the two Aussies went back to see their old feline friend. The man who had released him warned that Christian not only hadn’t been seen for ages, but that he might not even remember them…
“I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house down!” said the Big Bad Wolf, in the Three Little Pigs story. This video, from the UK show “Bang Goes The Theory” shows Jeff Stansfield firing air at a straw house, a wooden house and a brick house (well, OK, so they’re just walls,. really).
Firing air? Yup! At 200mph from a vortex cannon. No one had ever tried it before this - and it’s really awesome. Science fiction in the present… funky stuff!!
Take five Maltese puppies.
Add a video camera.
Film them while they learn to walk, kiss each other, yip and yap - and do dozens of other incredibly cute puppy things.
Cue viral response. Quite possibly the cutest puppy video EVER. See for yourself!
I hadn’t seen this until Alyssa Milano (yes, the actress) posted the link. It’s brilliant: 42 countries, a whole bunch of great scenery, a lot of folks joining in and one completely mad dancing guy. I don’t know why, but it just makes me smile. I especially liked the very staunch and stoic Korean Demilitarized Zone…
Quite possibly the cutest thing you’ll see this month (or year), this video has a really dodgy title about a Wolfman and cub. It sounds like some kind of B-movie trailer or something, but in fact it’s a guy who’s hand-rearing a wolf cub. And this is him teaching the little fella to howl. One, two, three… AWWWWW!!
This is brilliant. It’s a song by a group called Sour, called “Hibi no Neiro”. They translate that as “tone of everyday” (I guess “everyday feeling” or something). It was filmed entirely with webcams and the people in it are Sour fans. It must have taken an awful lot of effort and coordination to do some of the stuff they do (especially the mash-up faces).
Genius use of webcams, though. Enjoy it - it’s great!
Oh my. I just saw this up on Gimundo and thought “that sounds geeky and cool”. Little did I suspect that it would be such a well-made, beautiful short… that actually moved me to a tear or three at the end. It’s really touching.
Hope you all had a wonderful Fourth Of July weekend, out celebrating the USA’s birthday with friends and family. If you were watching fireworks, then I hope you weren’t doing something as stupid as this guy. Given that doing this is so incredibly dumb, my guess is that the firework not only exploded, er… “down there”, but also blew his brains out. They certainly aren’t in his head.
(Be warned: there’s some strong language in there. NSFW on that count.)
This is really good fun: Big Buck Bunny. He’s a gigantic, friendly rabbit who flips out when he sees a butterfly mistreated by some other animals… so he turns into Rambo and gets his revenge in true cartoon fashion!
