If you have a lot of spare time to kill, a good Internet connection and the desire to shoot a lot of people, then maybe Cross Fire is for you! Suba Games’ free MMO military shooter (yes, I said FREE) has a tiny 1.6Mb downloader, followed by a much bigger install. Hey, the thing’s about 1.2Gb in size, so what do you expect?
The game has several modes of play, with teams trying to shoot the crap out of each other as they achieve certain goals. It’s all very Counter-Strike.
So did you get caught out by any? I only saw one, which was a new chocolate bar from A Quarter Of called Chockle, made like Aero but with helium instead of air. Very funny!
The Huffington Post is compiling a list of pranks that were done online. I like the Microsoft yodelling game! LOL.
There’s also a thread over at Something Awful where people are posting things they saw.
Another really good site for funny stuff today: this one’s called Innocent English and has masses of great content. There’s bad signs, funny videos, lists, jokes, bad English usage and all sorts of stuff to keep you laughing for a few hours!
There’s also the most beautiful video I’ve seen in ages on the site - well, a link to the YouTube video, anyway. It’s some dolphins in their tank. No big deal, right? Well, one of them makes air-bubble rings and plays with them! It’s incredible: the purity, innocence and playfulness of these animals is an inspiration. How can anyone feel bad after watching this?
I just found this site by accident (not fail!). It’s great: users submit bad ideas, bad signs and even some videos of people making really bad decisions. It looks like it’s updated pretty often, too. The man at the service station is unbelievable…
These had me laughing: they’re the 20 most ridiculous complaints made by tourists when they return from holiday. They range from people complaining that there’s no air conditioning outside to blaming a company for an unexpected pregnancy! My favourite, though, has to be the one about the topless beach. Brilliant!
And if you like that one, there’s a teeny tiny link over on the right to the 20 stupidest questions asked by tourists: hehehe! So tell me, are there any lakes in the Lake District?
I’ve never worked in a ‘cube farm’ office, but I’ve seen the ones where my man has worked and understand how horrible it is. Impersonal; like a prison; like you’re all some kind of robot species, bred to work in small cages all day. Yuck.
Lots of people like to decorate their work cube in a vain attempt to make it less cold and ugly. I suppose that makes sense, if you really care that much about your job. Anyway, here’s some creative ideas for decorations: I’m not sure if they’re a good idea or not… especially that last one!!
A lot of people go nuts about their car. They spend more money on them than they do on their house, or they spend hundreds of hours doing weird things to them. I suppose it’s an attempt to have something unique, something that doesn’t exist anywhere else.
This post is from October last year on Village of Joy. It has 50 different cars that have been custom-made by their owners. Some of them are weird, some are really ugly, but they’re all completely crazy! I love that grass-covered Beetle, though.
Remember Hot Or Not, that web site that allows people to vote and give scores to people on physical appearance? You know the one - promoting superficiality in the MTV generation? It’s always funny looking at the desperate bid for reassurance from the unknown masses.
Well, here’s the ugly equivalent. UglyPeople.com has basically the same voting system, though a kind of demented percentage ugly rating (someone’s not very good at math over on that site). You can vote, just like on the pretty site. There’s some really weird photos on there. Enjoy!
I just found this site and had to post it up because it’s so incredibly crazy! It’s called Crazy Crap on eBay and it’s a blog of exactly that: some of the craziest stuff that people list on eBay. Check out Lincoln made out of pennies, Elvis made out of cheese puffs, someone changing their name for charity and all sorts of other crazy crap.
