The Funspider

A couple of pictures for you today. The first came via Twitter and is a collection of pie charts, graphs and flow diagrams that are all really funny. I especially like the Pac Man ones!

The second is someone messing with their local paper, by placing a whole sequence of advertisements for parts of a bear. Yes, a bear. Bear claws, feet, eyes, tail, nose… and so on. Apparently, the newspaper’s classified section is automated.

Just a quick post for the moment, since I saw this and it REALLY made my man laugh. It’s a little comic diagram of how the HR department and the IT department judge resumes from people applying for jobs. Brilliant!

You English are funny people. The French (I’m French) are much less bothered by talking about sex. I suppose it’s because the English are so polite that they have trouble with the subject.

These postcards used to be really popular at seaside towns, my man tells me: they’re “saucy” - in other words they are sex jokes, but using innuendo instead of just being pictures of naked men and women. I think they’re amusing. Apparently, they aren’t seen as much now because sex is an easier subject. I think that’s a shame.

I love these things. Back when they started, there were some really good demotivational posters, but more recently they’ve sort of lost the thread a bit and have less to do with poking fun at those horrible motivational things big businesses put on the walls.
